Groundbreaking for the first sanctuary, now Andersen Hall

Welcome to the Small Church

with the Big Heart

First Congregational Church was founded by a group of people in 1979 who shared a love for God and a desire to worship God with freedom of expression, with autonomy of the local church within a non-hierarchical sisterhood of churches.  They found these things in Congregationalism, a way of being a church that promotes faith, freedom and fellowship.

After meeting for several years in a variety of places, the first church was built in 1987.  Ten years later, the current sanctuary was a built and the original church building now houses the fellowship hall and offices.  In the fall of 2007, the fellowship hall was renamed named Andersen Hall in thanksgiving for Pastor and Mrs. Erv (Mary Lou) Andersen.  (see Special Events for pictures!)

Since 1980, the church has been affiliated with the Florida Association of Congregational Churches and the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.  The church has demonstrated outstanding stewardship, community involvement, and exceptional attention to missions and benevolence over the years.

The members are the very backbone of this church.  They have remained faithful to God and to each other throughout good times and bad.  In the face of the challenging events of our life together each member responds by working harder, loving one another, and continually seeking to serve God.

Moving forward with a positive attitude and spiritual commitment, we continue to welcome visitors with open arms and hearts.
