Lordship
In the beauty of creation
we see God's loving
care for everything
and everyone.
"Consider the lilies of
the field, and howthey grow!"
A covenant community is assembled as people are
called by Christ and gathered together by the Holy Spirit or the purpose of nurturing a deeper understanding of
God's call on our lives.
Within this community,
we
are transformed from
those whose ultimate concern
is self, to
those
whose ultimate concern is living
in accord with God's will. The Holy
Spirit accomplishes this formation
as we
participate in worship,
discipleship (education),
apostleship (service to others) fellowship
and stewardship, the ministries
by
which the church
has historically
guided the
formation
of loving,
caring people
of God.
The hill called Golgotha, The Place of
the Skull, is near
the site of the crucifixion
of Jesus in Israel. It is
through Jesus' death and
resurrection that we
participate in eternal life.
Baptisms remind us of our covenant commitment to one another
with the help of the Advocate,
he Holy Spirit, God's
Presence with us.

"The Lord has more truth and light to break forth out of his holy
word. "With these words, John Robinson encouraged the
Pilgrims as they prepared
to sail to the New World in 1620.
As the spiritual heirs of the Pilgrims, we gather as a covenant
community, to pray and sing together, hear God's
word read and preached, responding to God's
truth and light by caring for one another,
our community, and the world.
Apostleship
Serve
Encourage
Invite
Caring for our neighbors in need is one of the strengths of our church.
Whether gathering food
for the Cape Coral Caring Center, reaching
out to
neighbors around
the world through National Association missions,
or
knitting
sweaters for children in need,
our church nurtures
a
generous caring spirit within
the congregation and individuals
alike.
.
Whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do unto me.
Discipleship
Discern
Teach
Clarify
Studying our relationship to God and one another is a life-long
responsibility.
Go into the world
baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

Stewardship

Fellowship
We
of First Congregational Church have accepted
responsibility for the
stewardship of God's gifts to us, acknowledging
His presence in the midst
of all that we are have and do.
Stewardship is not limited to the Sunday
morning offering, but rather is a call to manage
our time, talents and treasure wisely
through-out the week. Steward-ship is not
something
someone else does; it is our response to God's
claim on our lives.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Our Church
Our Community
Our World
Like all families, our
members and friends gather together regularly, often
around the
table. There is a soup/salad
dinner for the council meeting each
month. Occasionally,
Sunday
worship is followed by a pancake breakfast.
Each year we celebrate
Thanksgiving
dinner at the church for any and all
who wish to come.
The Women's Fellowship group meets monthly on the second
Saturday
at 10 a.m. ,
and its members are active in many types
of outreach to our
neighbors. The church actively participates in the Florida Association
of Congregational
Christian Churches, and
the
National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.
